Fort Pierce, FL - (May 1, 2009) - Culpepper & Terpening, Inc. today announced they will sponsor the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society, Indian River Chapter, Annual Golf Tournament to be held on May 16, 2009 at the Saint James Golf Club. The tournament, which promises a morning of fun and affordable golf will be an 8:30 A.M. shotgun, in a four-man scramble format. The cost is $55.00 per player, which includes breakfast, lunch, team and individual prizes as well as a door prize and raffle. Proceeds of the event will benefit the Indian River Chapter of FSMS to aid their support of local charities and students pursuing a career in the surveying and mapping field. The Indian River Chapter covers four counties, including; Martin, Saint Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee.
The FSMS is a professional organization representing a diversity of members in the surveying and mapping industry. Their Scholarship grant may be the stepping stone that creates a future United States President-it's not such a far-fetched thought when you consider that three of the four Presidents represented on Mount Rushmore started their careers as surveyors. Those three are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. The industry has come along way since then, now using high tech equipment to touch upon and improve every aspect of our life, from land-based construction to underground piping and storm drainage.
